Coaching News

Tim Time…..
The last 5 weeks have consisted of a lot of racing for the State/ National squad. This has given everyone a chance to practice race plans and to gauge where they are at with their fitness levels. At the recent Brisbane Championships we had both Lilly Steinberg (400 & 800 free) and Kelsea Sudrikku (100 Breast) won medals. Many of the girls are closing in on achieving National Age times with both Boo Waters (50 Free & 100 Back) and Kelsea Sudrikku (100 & 200 Breast) securing their times at recent meets. Our focus has now shifted to the Queensland Championship which will be held at Chandler from the 13th-19th of December.

Coach Clare...

Term 4 has started off with a bang with Stroke Development lessons selling out faster than a One Direction concert!! We have had many of our stroke development kids join Clayfield Aquatics and they are loving Wednesday night racing! Club nights are a great way to introduce your child to racing in a non-competitive environment. If you would like more information on our Club Nights please see me. Once again we had a very successful Holiday Intensive program with many swimmers improving greatly and moving up levels! If you would like to see your child improve their swimming in a short period of time I would highly recommend joining in our December and January program. Awards were given out to the following: Finn East, Kelsi Darben and Kristian Hua.

It has been great seeing everyone committing to their training this month and starting to participate more at swim meets. All the hard work paid off at the recent CJ’s Swim Meet last weekend. A special mention goes to Blair McKitrick who received two gold and two silver medals at this meet. A very special congratulations goes to Kirby Patterson-Fahy who has qualified for three individual events for the Queensland State Titles later this year. I am looking forward to seeing everyone compete at the upcoming Yeronga Park meet later this month. Keep up the good work everyone. See you on pool deck!
